Wiping a Hard Drive

I had this guy come buy a lot of my computer stuff laying around and I told him I did have anything to wipe my drives with. He Told me he would take care of it at my house. So when he came by he showed me what he had and it was cables to hook up to his laptop through usb to the harddrive. Then he said it was plug and play and deleted them. He told me he got the set of cables ( for a lot of different types of hd's) from computergeeks.com... I have been looking and cant find anything thats like it. So my question is ... where to i find a set?

Call me paranoid - but I wouldn't let a stranger plug up to my drives if there was any personal info on them I did not want to share.

In the past - I've always destroyed my drives and junked my old computers - but now a days I'd keep the parts and use Drive Scrubber to clear out the drives. You can get an OEM version at Newegg for 5.00 Free shipping.

I agree with the above...for all you know he could have actualy made a copy of all your files onto his drive before he formated yours somehow.

Im not to worry'd about it b/c i was standing there the whole time and im sure there ws nothing on the drives that could be used to touch me
