Download cell phone pics to Desktop

Hi all,

I hope I'm using the right forum. I recently purchased a LG 225 (very basic) cell phone. I need to know how to transfer the pictures to my desk top. The phone came with a USB cable that connects the phone to the P/C. When I plug it in, I get a message that the device is not recognized. I'm figuring I need some software to make this work. Is there any "free" software that I can get my hands on? Any other short cuts to make this happen?

Thanks,
Jim

Usually you need to install the software cd that came with your phone.

Does it have a micro sd card, if so, for future use save the photos on the card, and later just use a card reader to transfer stuff.

Another method I use frequently (since my phone does not support USB-PC transfers), just send a picture message of all the pictures you want to send to your e-mail address. Otherwise, you will probably need the CD to install the software to recognize your phone device. It's doubtful your phone has such software...

Does the phone have bluetooth? That's what I use to grab the photos from my Nokia. That or a card reader as suggested above.

As for the cable, there are probably drivers somewhere... Or it could be that the quirky garmin's I've seen that essentially used USB drives to charge the device. Not connectivity, just something to keep the computer from prompting you every time it's plugged in :P

you can get a usb blue tooth that well plug into your computer and you can transfer it with that

Simple solution buy a camera :D.

Since its a low end phone it might not support data transfer blutooth meaning that it can do headsets, but not transfer files. Emailing it to yourself would be your best bet, but again, im guessing that you dont have that in your plan if you have a low end phone.

But serriously, there are some good digital cameras that are cheap. :P
