Download speed really slow??

Hello forum.

I am experiencing extremely slow download speeds for some reason and it seemed to start after I updated Adobe Flash Player 10 Active X. Does this program change setting somewhere without prompting you that it is doing it.

I have ultra high speed internet and using my providers download speed test I am only getting 120KB/sec but I was getting over 600KB/sec before the Active X update. I tried uninstalling the Active x update but this still never fixed the problem.

I can recall something similar happening on my old PC and could not figure it out and switched to FireFox and my download speed came back. I bet that it probably had something to with the Active X updates on that machine as well.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
My internet speed also become slow. Where other user get 512kb/s speed. I get only 150kb/s. I also have active x installd. But didnt notice that if its the cause or not. Now im going to uninstall that to check this whether it is the cause or not.
 
Have you cleared all your cookies and Cache recently? Normally after a download you get junk files left which can decrease the performance of your web browser. I recommend using CCleaner and Glary Utilities i use these practically everyday im addicted to these programs there that good haha :) Good luck!
 
download and run this vista patch
select apply patch
this patch runs in command prompt... and makes available the hidden bandwidth of the broadband connection used by the operating system....
its just one time installation .. u can revert back to original settings by re-running the patch and select the appropriate option....
