Overclocking Estimations

Once my mobo gets back and everything is up and running (probably tomorrow)
I want to do some OCing. For this reason i bought a zalman CNPS700C-ALCU
for use with my E4500. I'm using IC7 paste because my AS-5 was smashed upon arrival. I will also be flashing my BIOS to get the OCing options available. If not i'll use ClockGen or something.
See sig for the rest of my specs. I was just wondering what you guys think I would be able to OC my E4500 to. I'm hoping to get it to 3.0ghz without a voltage increase. Its' stock speed is 2.2ghz, it has an 800mhz FSB and i think the multiplier is 11x.
 
if its anything like my e5200 is, you should be able to get 3ghz without much of a bump(i managed 3.75ghz on my e5200 with 1.3 :D)
 
hmm... how should i overclock? with the FSB or multiplier? I heard that the multiplier is better, and it only overclocks the CPU, not everything like the FSB does... But if i use the FSB my whole system will be faster if it's stable :)
 
OK, if my CPU's multiplier is 11, then 11 x 200 = 2200(mhz). That's the stock speed.
I think 11 x 205 = 2310(mhz) would be a good starting point. That's only a 110mhz overclock though. If I could get to 2.6ghz - 2.8ghz without using the FSB, and only upping voltage by a tiny bit, I would be happy.
What do you guys think?

doesn't work like that, you have to use the fsb to overclock, voltage doesn't affect clock speed in any way(other than stability)

actually need to bump the fsb without touching the voltage ;)

but you should be able to do that easily, most intel dual cores will clock to around 3.0ghz on stock volts.

EDIT: now that i think about it, my e4500 would do 3.0ghz on stock volts with 10X300.

Cool, I either need to flash my BIOS to non-OEM or use ClockGen to be able to overclock...
Any advice on flashing the BIOS? I'm thinking about making a backup of the OEM version.
