i thought so. my new monitor is 1280x1024 by default... I'm just about to go pickup my mobo from the post office and i'll fire her up and post some benchies of crysis... that arrived too along with my monitortoday has been good
Only until I get a new card... prolly a 4870 if i save enough... and that means a new powersupply too
Apparently the 3870 does better than an 8800gt when OCed a little... which i will do![]()
Is there much of a difference between High and Very High on Crysis? I know that Medium looks just a little better than Far Cry (the original). I've also got Crysis Warhead and Far Cry 2 arriving this weekAnd that's all i'll play for a while, besides CS:S... Ha, I bet my 3870 could max CS:S no probs.

CS:S is no problem. I got 60+ FPS on 1024x768 with my ol Radeon X1650 Pro, P4 2.6ghz and 768mb of DDR.. with 6x AA and 16x AF... i was gobsmacked.
EDIT: my cousin has a gaming pc, he doesn't even have crysis... all he plays is WoW... shame really, he could have given it to me.![]()
Hey, i just read somewhere that in crysis, when you use AA and it causes lag, switch it to 8x and the lag goes away even if the setting was lower... does this work?
Most likely. When i install it i'll have to remember to patch it to avoid the general crap you get with new games. Far Cry 2 for example.
While we are on the subject of crysis, are there any tweaks that can boost performance with minimal/no loss in image quality? links would be handy if you have them
and one more thing, if Warhead looks better than Crysis and it performs better on the same hardware, how would my 3870 handle it?
