WHich voltage do I raise?

Hey guys. My CPU overclock ceiling without a voltage increase is 2.61GHz

Now I want to get to 3GHz.

Which voltage do i raise?

and to what voltage?

The BIOS says my CPU/Vcore is at 1.31, then it says 1.32500

which one do I change, and by how much? Do I change that which says CPU Voltage (Duh!)? Do I put it on 1.35000 or less? Cause there are 2 voltage readings in BIOS (one in OC menu, one in PC health menu...)

And where would the OC start getting dangerous (at which voltage?)

The PC health one is just giving the the exact reading the voltage is currently. You should even be able to select it to change it. The power supply isn't able to give the exact voltage that you set it at. Some cheap power supplies really dip the voltage when under load, it's called Vdroop.
Second, are you running the stock cooler? Before increasing voltage, you need to upgrade your CPU cooler. If you are already at 50c load temp at stock voltage, thats no good to increase voltage and more overclock.
Whenever you do get a good cooler on there, take the voltage more than likely right to 1.425 volts. Then keep overclocking in small increments and find out what the max stable is while observing your temps and make sure they don't hit much more than 60c. I know max spec is 70c, but why push it? I wouldn't.

I have a Hyper 212 Plus. I have OCed now to 2.7 without any raises to the Voltage...

Is it bad to OC without any raises to the Voltage? I have gone from 2.13 to 2.7 without any probs...

Im gonna play some Far Cry to test the stability.

Ill get back to you on my load temps...

and the settings in the picture are the only ones regarding voltage that i can change...

So should i set the voltage slightly over 1.325?

And so far, playing Far Cry, it went to 35* max...

im gonna play Crysis with the Anti-Virus doing a scan, and then we will see some figures...

and this is way more stress than ill ever put on my PC. the most stress is probably from playing crysis

+1 on prime 95.

As long as your CPU doesn't go much over 60c, you're fine. I would bump voltage to 1.425 with NO increase in overclock, then run prime 95 and see what your temps are. If they stay closer to 50, you'll be OK to increase the overclock more. You have to run prime95 for atleast 1/2-1 hour to see what your temps will really get too.

the thing is, I have not raised the voltage at all, but i can still go higher with the OC...

Im now at 2.8GHz...

Is this bad if I do it like this? I will carry on like this untill i reach my ceiling, that is when i want to start raising the voltage...

but if i can reach 3GHz without a voltage increase, i will be happy...

i will get Prime95 now to test it...

the thing is, Playing Crysis is the most ill stress my computer...

Adding a virus scan on top just make it unreal... but ill use Prime to test it...

which test do I run?

I ran the 2nd one for like 15 minutes, and the most my temps went was like 39*C...

i will test more, but i dont have time now, as its getting late, and i have an early day...

playing crysis in combination with a virus scan isn't a real test even though it's the most stress you'll put on your system.

when you use prime95 to test your system not only will your temps go higher. If you run it long enough you'll be sure that your oc is good. You can play crysis for 2 hours and not notice anything. And run prime95 for 10 minutes and you'll get an error or even worse a bsod or a reboot.

k cool

ill run it and see what happens.

Is it bad to OC without any Voltage increases?

Im now at 2.9GHz, and i havent even touched the voltage...

And back to the original question, must I increase the CPU voltage (look at the picture in the original post) to anything above 1.32500v

well im at 2.9GHz from 2.13GHz, no voltage increase, and running Prime95, and my temps havent gone above 39*C...

so i can push a little further?

41c is very very good. I would raise the voltage to 1.4 or so volt, but leave the overclock the same, and run prime95 to see what it goes to. If it still doesn't go over 50c, you are perfectly fine to overclock more.

i plaayed some far cry at 2.9GHz. It would freeze about 2 minutes in...

but Prime found no problems...

so i dropped it to 2.8GHz with no problems...
