That screen cap you see above? That's the first evidence that Gran Turismo 5 will finally have damage rendering. The image is courtesy of the new GT5 trailer (posted after the break) Polyphony Digital released today at the E3 gaming expo. Other bits to note: fully-licensed NASCAR and WRC racing have been added for the first time, and, in typical Gran Turismo fashion, PD hasn't released a firm date for the game's release.

However, even more compelling than GT5's imminent arrival is what joined the release of the PSP Go (right), a lighter, more compact version of Sony's Playstation Portable (priced at $249.99). When the new 16-gig PSP arrives on October 1, you'll be able to download the first portable version of Gran Turismo – aptly named Gran Turismo Mobile – to the device. According to Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the GT series, this won't be a stripped-down version of the game. It boasts 60 frames-per-second rendering, 800 cars, 35 tracks, career and arcades modes, and the ability to play against three friends over the PSP Go's wifi connection. We haven't been able to find out if Gran Turismo Mobile will work on the current PSP platform, but we might be willing to shell out the coin if it means we can practice running the Nurburgring on our next flight to Germany.

Sweet :D found this out this morning. sat through the 2 hours long video of the Sony conference :) really hope that there will be a version for the current psp. tbh, the PSP Go doesnt look as nice as the current ones :D

EDIT: as seen in the trailer, it seems that the game is also available for the current PSP
 
yeah those are great

great trailers i cant wait for gt5 im drooling i just hope its not as hard as prologue has been for me :( when it comes to s rank racing

lol. s class races are the most fun for me imo cause you don't drive hamsters like the suzuki cappucino. :P
 
well

well i tried tuning that car you told me about and i tried it many different ways and still had no luck getting in 3rd place i havent even really been able to get too far within the first lap to even wanna play all the way through the race of 5 laps on s-10

A Gran Turismo 5 brochure handed out at the 2009 GamesCom convention revealed that the game is set to release 4th Quarter of 2009.[2] If this release date is confirmed by Sony, then it will bring the gap between the release of Gran Turismo 4 and its direct successor, Gran Turismo 5, to 5 years. The full game demoed at the convention, though the attendees were limited to driving a 2009 model Subaru Impreza WRC for two laps around the Tokyo Route 246 track. The demo also implemented force feedback technology.

i really hope this is true cuz i dont want to wait all the way til 2010 to get my hands on this game lol eventhough i still havent beat s-10 of prologue lol

I don;t understand why you would play a racing "sim" on a hand-held games console :confused:

The graphics wouldn't give the car the quality it deserves, the sound of the cars, same thing and the physics would be shocking compared to the real thing.

Also, call me an xbox fanboy, call me a PS3 hater, whatever, but this won't be as good as forza 3 imho. Forza seems more refined, more like it is to do with motor racing and less to do with the artsy fartsy "fan" stuff. GT5 seems more like a racing game and forza more of a racing simulator. And yes, i know both are games and neither simulators, i mean forza seems to be closer to the real thing.

I do have to admit though, the graphics look sweet on the ps3 version :P

blitz skyline r34 my friend, use it. ;) i got 3rd place with it, make your 1st and 2nd gear ratio's tall and the rest as it is because the skyline has wicked acceleration.

i'm not calling you out or anything but, have you even played GT5:P? i haven't played forza so i can't compare if forza is the better "racing sim". if you say GT is like any other racing game, it'd be something like GRID (which is pants imo) where we can go round every corner sliding. :P

lol, yes grid is pants and yes, i have played GT5, one of my friends has it and when the demo game thing, can't remember what they called it to cover up it is half a game, came out, he got it and i spent a good while over there playing it, and it is fun and all, just not as good s forza.

GT5 Prologue, yeah I have it as well. It's not as fun as Forza because it's just a preview of what the actual GT5 will be. Obviously having 6 tracks only with a handful of cars will get boring eventually. I just race online to get my moneys worth. ;)

yea i know there isn't the same content, you have to take that into account ofcourse, but even so it didn't feel like a proper racing game if you get me, more arcadey, less like an actual sim game like forza is and GT5 claims to be
 
i'll have to try out forza to see for myself. i'm pretty happy with the physics of GT5 and i've played other race sims as well like RACE07 and GT5 has the best i've played so far as all the cars feel different. like you can feel that the Ford GT is really heavy compared to a nimble Mitsubishi Evo.

yea forza is the same. If you have a muscle car, you know that it has terrible steering and eighs as much as a van, but then you get into a lotus elise and it handles eally good, but at the same time, if you set it up right, you can have fun drifting it around :D
 
Holy crap I never thought it would make it to the PSP. Maybe I can dust off my first gen fatty to play this.

I have also been pumped for the PS3 version since I bought my PS3 a year ago.
