A friend of mine recently said that he would help me build a comp as I am not very computer savvy. I want to get some people opinions on the parts. I'm just wondering if all the parts will work together.

RAM:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820159015

Power Supply:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817162020

It's not the best comp, is what he says, but it will definitly be good for gaming which is the majority of what I use the comp for. But heh give me your opinions, if my friend build this for me would everything work?

umm, the psu is junk (buy a corsair for another $40) and will probably blow and take out ur mobo, which is also junk, get a gigabyte or asus or foxconn. the cpu is ok, but remember, u get what u pay for. the video card is ok, and so is the ram. any case is fine, but the link u got sends to the cpu

Thanks for the feedback...

@FairDoos- I'm looking at spending less than 300$ total including shipping since this it the budget i get for my eighteenth b-day. As far as games go I'm looking to play wow, modern warfare 2 when it comes out and same with starcraft II.

@ganzey & mx344- If I got the psu that I stated in my post what would happen, would it burn out? Also my friend said that i need 550W for some reason idk not so good with comps.

And as I stated before, i'm not looking for the zomg comp of the century, just looking to get 70ish fps in wow raids and cod which should be easily obtainable...

if you get a cheap psu, it can blow and take out your ENTIRE pc, it can fry the mobo, cpu, ram, video card, hdd, etc. corsair is by far THE BEST power supply maker.

It'd work for about 5 minutes, PSU is junk, CPU is fine, RAM is crap (slow, and seriously, 2x1GB? Spend another 20$ and get 2x2GB) GPU is outdated (Get a 4850 at least) No mention of drives..

All in all I'd find someone else to build it, personally

PC Power and Cooling are the best power supplies then probably seasonic corsair probably falls around 3rd or 4th.

Like I said I have a budget, I can't spend more money on ram, I mean eventually I'll be able to, but not atm my friend said this is the best comp you can build on a 300$ budget(including shipping) it's not necessarily the best but it can be upgraded.

Also I've read a lot of reviews on the power supply, although there are a few bad reviews it does have a 4/5 and there are people who have using this power supply over a year with a more upgraded comp. Although there are some comments that say that the voltage isn't necessarily 550 which worries me idk.

More comments!GO GO GO

WoW and Starcraft 2 I don't think have huge system requirments to run well but Moderan Warfare 2 must require a pretty good computer to run well because it has the 3D world like WoW but the image quality is much higher. Starcraft 2 might be 3D to an extent but is still relatively 2D.

ya i don't believe that this system will have a problem running any of those games, but I know my current system in no way could handle modern warfare two, it can barely handle the original.
