Hard Drive Fires

Hey, since building my computer, i have had 2 hard drive fires. The first was a faulty drive but the latest today was on a drive that i have been using for nearly 2 years without issue. It caused a chip on the hd to melt, the power connector on the hd to melt and the connector on the power lead to melt. It is a Seagate 320gb SATA drive, and is powered with a Colors-IT 600W psu and connected to an ASRock 939 motherboard, these are what i would think are the most likely culprits, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I would say you have a bad power supply. I've never even heard of that brand.

+1, this is a lesson to you about buying cheap power supplies. It is always better to drop performance to get a better power supply, it is pointless having the best if something like this happens or the PSU blows, taking your shiny new system out

Colors-IT are very bad , I´ve had one go on me . That was the last cheap PSU i ever bought. They are some of the cheapest and nastiest I´ve come across.

Well i guess thats me told, I think I'll put a hammer through it and chuck it in a skip then eh? ;) Lucky it didnt touch my shiny new 1.5tb drive, and also lucky that Seagate seem fine about taking it back under warranty.
Anyways, cheers guys and I'll definitely be back when something else goes belly up lol

When you replace it, make sure to get a quality unit such as an antec, xclio, FSP, Corsair, OCZ, Pc power and cooling, BFG, etc.

Avoid brands such as raidmax, apevia, codegen, rosewill, ultra, and other similar off brands.
