ok heres my play my gona to cut the extra optical dive covers and put a fan there, do you guys think this will help with getting the air movin in my case?

thanks

whats a good fan i could put in there im think a 120mm will fit what do you guys think?

You need to bring cold air in the bottom and then exhaust out of the higher back. I think 2 x 120mm fans in the best way although I did what you did once and my cpu was cooler and it will make it slightly cooler.

Jaree, what eliot said is sort of right, that is the best setup to have in at bottom front, out at top rear, but in at front anywhere, out at back anywhere is a good set up still.

There is someone on here with the fan there where the drive should be, can't remember who now, think it might have been drityD who isn't here any more :( . Regardless of who it was, a while ago i was talking to them about it because i was going to do it and they were saying they had huge temperature drops from when they had no fan to having one there.

120mm should fit so long as you have an atx case, mini, mid or full, any will fit it. If you can get a 140mm in there, all the better, then bigger the better.

If you can aswell if you don't already, stick a fan on the back sucking out to get air flow through the case with cool air in and the hot air being removed

well i dont have a fan yet to suck in air so the one fan on the back is bring in air

OMG i just took off thos two drive covers and my temps aready drop! they were around 46c and now they are at 36c!! that makes me happy :)

swap the back one around so it is an exhaust for the CPU and PSU (unless you have a case that has the PSU at the bottom, then just for the CPU)

ok i just finished installing the fan on the front of my case
heres a pic of temps at idl and full load

yea i did that and my crappy rosewill has to fans

lol, i quite like rosewill cases, atleast from a looks perspective, they look plain and simple, not all fiddly and farty like most performance cases.

your temps look pretty cool at idle, but that CPU is a little tosasty under full load. Are you still on stock cooler?

yeah im use the stock cooler :( and i meant psu rosewill and i have a generic case but i like it it fits my color skeam

oh i see what you mean with the PSU :P

have you tried lapping the heatsink or reaplying thermal paste? If you haven't done it in a while it may help the temps redoing that, or you could always get another fan and mod the side of your case with a fan sucking air onto the processor, or better yet, get an aftermarket heatsink and fan

yeah im going to get a new cooler when i get the money, but the stock cooler came with thermal paste on it so i didnt have to put any on.

right now i have my cpu over clock form 2.8 to 3.0 and i raised the voltage up by .5 and i want to get to 3.1 how would i do this bump the voltage up by another .5? cuz when i just change it to 3.1 and run prime 95 my comp goes to blue screen right away, any ideas?

well the thermal paste that AMD or intel stick on in the first place is, in all honestly, pants, you would see much better temperatures from spending a few bucks on some decent thermal paste and whacking that on if you can't affor a CPU hs and fan atm.

As to the OC, try putting it up again, but watch the temperatures!! If it isn't stable with more power though, put it back down and try to slightly underclock your memory

ok well i will try that and before i modded my case i was run temps of 67 or 69c on max, so it should be a little better, i mean i drop 10 degrees!

20, that says you are on 49 there under load, that is sweet, just from taking the front panels off and sticking a fan there

ha i cut a hole in the two front drive panels! and when i test the stableity how long should i wait before i can walk away from my computer and wait an hour or two for it to test, what happends if i dont know its on the blue screen?

give it 15-20 minutes, if after that point your system doesn't look too hot or unstable, leave it doing its thing for a couple hours and if it isn't open when you come back because it has obviously reset, you know it has bsoded and is unstable :P simple

ok thanks but one more thing when i open cpuz to see what my speed is at it says its at 3.093.3 and in the bios i have the muilplier set to 3.1ghz i dont get why its going this

rounded that is 3.1, it is just the frequency it is at. You aren't going to gain anything noticable from an extra 7 KHz
