What is going on with this video card?

I bought a sparkle 8400GS to use in a low profile application. The card comes from the manufacturer with the IO shield attached and all three ports on the card, DVI, S out and then off to the side, remotely located with a ribbon is the analog. I need to use the analog as a low profile setting. NO problem it would SEEM because the card also comes with two low profile IO shields to replace the regular one. One is shaped for the DVI and the S out, the other is shaped for the analog and the S out. The problem? The DVI appears to be soldered to the board, at least it looks that way. I can't figure out how I would replace the DVI with the analog to put the shield on.

Just a thought, I don't know the case you have, but many have a dummy you can break off to allow com ports. A VGA port would fit nicely there too.

If that won't work, you may do as ganzey said and get a converter.

u cant, just buy a dvi to vga converter, theyre $5 at the most

I actually have one laying around, trouble is, with it in place the computer no longer fits in the place on the desk my mother-in-law keeps it.

Yes, this is a great idea, particularly because I too thought of it was well :D. Problem is, this POS computer does not have one. IN fact, the problem with this whole thing is simply that my mother-in-law bought this HP slimline computer that has a whopping TWO expansion slots and one comes filled from the factory. I realized afterward that the card must be designed to use the second IO shield for the Dsub15 in a second expansion slot - the mistake Sparkle obviously made here is including the circular hole for the S out on this shield as the connector is soldered to the card. I have decided to remove the factory modem and use the second slot for the Dsub15 for time being - if need arises for that second slot in the future, I will instruct the MIL to buy a new, DVI monitor.

Thanks
