Low profile expansion slots

There's no difference in the actual slot. The limiting factor here is the size of the case. Low profile cards are typically about half as high as regular ones and have specal I/O plates on the back.

I checked some standards (seeing as I can't find my ruler :P) and low profile cards are essentially about 1.5" tall.

Here's a photo of some cards I had laying around. You can see the low-profile I/O plate is about half that of the regular one.

So that pretty much means that my video card and my wireless network adapter are going to be no good for this new case that i want to get?

Video card, probably. Network adapter, it might be low profile compatible, though you'll need to buy a low profile bracket.
