Okay so im not great with computers and im hoping someone may be able to walk me through my issue. Ive got a stock Acer TravelMate and its running REAL sluggish. The hard drive is partitioned if I said that corectly and the first half is FULL and the second half is empty. So I think the issue is that the computer runs off the first section of the the hard drive (I think thats right)

So I need to see about transferring some stuff over to the other half to clear up some memory to make it run quicker. I dont know anything about computers so english would be the best lingo ;)

Thanks in advance guys and gals!!

Let me give you an idea on how slow it really is. I just clicked on the IE to pull up the netr and it took 13 seconds to pull up the page...

well first of all you have to uninstall some programs on drive C im guessing and put them on the 2nd half of the partition. I also suggestion running a virus scan or malwarescan try http://www.malwarebytes.org/ its a good free scanner/remover.

Start there

Well i have a Anti-Zirus program on it already but ill do that anyways. And is there not a way to transfer all the programs to the second half without uninstalling the program and reinstalling?!

Okay so I decided to just go ahead and start fresh with this thing. I have a couple ?'s about doing a wipe out.

Ive got a Windows Vista disk that I can use to re-do the laptop. Is there a way to eliminate the partition so that there is one drive everything will go on and just add some memory to help with the speed? If so I have C: and D: how can I just make it C: only?? Sorry if this sounds confusing not very up to date on cpu lingo lol.

What do you guys suggest I use for memory? I have a stock travelmate 4020 it has a door on the bottom for adding memory, links to one you guys and gals recommend?? Thanks!@
