Thermaltake Big water Cooling Question

I had a friend buy one and right out of the box it leaked. The replacement ones reservoir broke after a month. It leaked onto his parts and ruined a harddrive. Moral of the story is do not buy cheap watercooling. Save up and buy a better kit from Danger Den.

Thanks, can you reccomend me a good one? And is it better to buy one, or to build one by parts.

Appreciate your help mate.

Why buys kits.... pretty much any "kit" sucks.

Build one by parts, some good places to buy stuff are Jab-tech.com, sindwindercomputers.com, are my favorites, petras tech shop, performance pcs, and frozencpu are alright, but kinda pricey and i only use them for parts sidewinders and jab dont carry.

Thanks, and what are the parts do I need to building a kit? For a 1366 Socket.

i used to have the thermaltake kit...

low powered pump, poor radiators, poor cpu block and not very good cooling either

my cpu block leaked all over my gpu, lucky never caused any damage

Depending on the price:

For pump+Res, either:

Liang d5 (MCP 655)+Swiftech MCRes

Or

Liang ddc 3.2(MCP355)+XSPC Res Top (Few bucks more, but much higher head pressure than the d5)

Radiator, the XSPC RS240 is the best cheaper rad, if you wanna spend a few bucks more on a triple get an xspc RS360, or a thermochill PA 120.2/120.3(depending on what you want to pay).

Tubing- 1/2"x3/4" Tygon, or 3/8" tygon if you want cheaper.

Waterblock- Apogee GTZ 1366 edition, or if you wanna spend more a Heatkiller 3.0

Barbs- Either get standard 1/2" or 3/8" barbs, or spend more on compressions. Compressions dont require hose clamps, barbs do. You want the worm drive hose clamps, not the plastic ones.

Fans- 120x38mm's are better due to static pressure, but coolermaster r4's or scythe slipstream 120x25's work(not quite as well).

why apogee? you can get the EK supreme lt that performs better for less, i got the xspc 360 rad and it is supposed to be a really good performer

thanks, it is kinda pricey. But I will build it by parts probably. Shall I order this Cpu Block Or Not?

Well, the EK Supreme is just as good as the Apogee GTZ actually, and the cheapest heatkiller performs the same as well. All three perform pretty evenly tbh, the only one that has a clear advantage over either of them is the HK 3.0.

Plus, here in the states at least, the GTZ is cheaper.

get a ddc 3.2 with an aftermarket top, and i don't care for the danger den tdx(mainly since its been around a while) i would go gtz, or ek supreme lt, as for a rad, get a black ice 240 or something decent while you're at it

Said that earlier:P

The 3.25 with an aftermarket top is also a good option, its a bit higher flow than the 3.2

And for a rad, i personally prefer the XSPC's, not as free flowing as a thermochill, but far less restrictive than the black ice's or swiftechs.

nuh uh :P, and i don't know if the 3.25's are worth getting over the 3.2's(from what i hear, they're like the 2 series as in they like to die)
