PS3 wireless connection help~

Thanks for coming and reading~
This is somewhat embarrassing cause I think its something I should know but I'm so useless when it comes to these sort of things.

I'm trying to connect to the internet with my ps3 (in case you didn't know haha) and I clicked my 'connection name' with 85 %. Now it's asking for my WPA. I don't really know what that is, or how to get it (shamed). Can someone walk me through this? I don't know if I have to be on my main computer? I know it seems stupid but I really don't know anything about it D:

WPA is the security key you assigned your wireless router so only you can connect to it and noone else unless you give them the key. If you have forgotten the key, then you need to find out how to do a hard reset on the router to erase the key and start fresh.

OOOHHH ok, so thats what it is! Thank so much john for posting to my question! I found the key and input it but every time i test the connection it says failed. I put it in 4 times to make sure I didn't make a mistake D:

You might want to change the key to WEP, maybe the ps3 can't connect to it being WPA.

There's a difference between WEP and WPA? heh (hopeless). I don't know how to change it at all D: I'll investigate - thank you again <3
edit**
I tried WEP, but it timed out and failed D:
