Boot failure!! System Halted

Anyone can help me with this problem??:confused:. I have one old computer. a few day ago it suddenly turn off and restart with the black screen with the statement at the top left--> "BOOT FAILURE!!! SYSTEM HALTED".

This statement will appear after the BIOS, when trying to load the OS.. i cannot load the OS after all..

Check the BIOS settings to make sure it detected the HD properly
 
yeah, i do that several time. i also use new buy HDD with OS XP PRO installed. what is the meaning of "system halted" anywhere?? and which system it refer to??
