I know there are some hardcore linux users here so here is my question, im looking for a linux distro that can be loaded from a flash drive while in windows, ive tried ubuntu using qemu, and dsl mouse wont work in dsl, and ubuntu the mouse jumps to the top left corner of the screen and wont move. what im looking for is suggestions, i did see ubuntu has a portable edition but they havent made it work with usb yet.

you were able to get qemu to work form the usb drive? I know dsl had(s) mouse issues. what type of mouse do you have. try other mice.

If you want to run a virtual machine, you have to load it onto every computer you want to run the virtual machine. So what im saying is that you can't load linux and virtual machine software on a flashdrive and plug it into any computer and have it run a virtual machine. Hope that made sense, lol.

ive already done it, qemu/kqemu work right from the flash drive, they load the o/s but the mouse in both ubuntu and dsl dont work, i did try knoppix the other day and it worked so i guess im just gunna use that. i tried it on my laptop, desktop and 2 comps in my college class and it worked so hopefully it continues to work.

is there a reason you want to be able to this? Like is there a goal you are trying to accomplish, or is this just for fun?

Yeah but i dont think qemu works on windows, right?

Idk about that.... Qemu for windows is still in the alpha stage and pretty much unusable at this point. I definitely would not recommend it.
