Quick Question

Yes I see how this thread flowed that way
But I'm still a tad confused if you are trying to re-install clean or clear out Malware
I'll just double up, and say that even if you have a restore partition or not (also note that you will see a "press F10" (or some key) during system startup, if the HP restore is actually working properly)
.. You should really purchase a Restore disc. That way you don't even require this partition ;)

Edit You need to use Internet Explorer for that link :)

That's why I simply wanted to know if my OS is in my partition on this computer.

If you Right Click on the Start Menu, Left Click Explore, you can see how many "drives" you have.

If you have a Recovery Partition, it will be listed under "My Computer".

Thanks, I am using IE. This virus (or whatever) is blocking me from viewing that site. The only way I found to get to the Malwarebytes download was to go to their Facebook and follow a different link.

I can't afford the recovery discs, nor to wait on them to arrive. And I don't want to buy them if my comp is set up to save the OS anyway.

I'm sorry if you're confused- I would like to simply remove whatever this problem is if possible, but so far AVG, Norton, Windows Defender and Malwarebytes have failed, which is why I'm asking about reformatting.

And by the way, no, I don't know much about this sort of thing. I'm not afraid to admit that lol.

The recovery partition is likely hidden and therefore will not show in "My Computer"
You can see hidden partitions in Computer Management though. In control Panel > Admin. Tools >> Disk Management
