Quick RAM question.

I want to add some more ram to my system. The funny part is I know what type/capacity/speed/latency/ecc/unbuffered/ect. except for one question. My mobo says it only supports 2.5V for RAM. I am finding pritty much only 2.6V. Could I stick 2.6V in my mobo and will it work even though the manual says 2.5V?

do you know what make/model of ram is in your system now? this will help you find the correct ram if you buy the same stuff

I have one stick of Samsung DDR-SDRAM pc 2700 - 256MB, fsb 4:5, timings of 2.5-3-3-7.

The other stick is some other brand (pny I think) DDR-SDRAM pc 2700 - 256mb, everything else is the same.

well if you can actually find the model of the ram you should be able to get more of them... you could always chance it and order some 2.6v ram and see if it works in a stable manner on your system... if not send it back

Go to www.crucial.com They have a can my computer link and it should tell you which ram is compatible with your machine. Hopefully this helps.

Yes they have a very good thing which searches your computer and tells you what ram is compatible and offers to sell you it too! Its very very good.
