This is my Mobo:

Code:
 Asus MB Model: P5S800-VM

So i would like an upgrade on my PSU.. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I agree that 450Watt should be approx. minimum for a new Power Supply required for an addon Video Card (although others may argue that you don't)

have a look at sonme reputable brands and costing
And if you are going to ebay make sure that you read the buyers comments

Okay so now i need to know what connector the Graphics Card(Stated Above) needs. Is it a 6 Pin connector like this:

Even though it says PCI-E on it. Will it work for that AGP card?

Thanks.

They say that for people with crappy no name PSU's. You can run a 9800GT on that, and it requires much more power.
Yeah, the basiq will power a 9800GT.

As for any cheap power supply that is off brand, or any power supply included with a case, they are worth more as scrap than to be powering a system. And power supplies dont just fail, they fail catastrophically many times, causing a large voltage spike that can damage other components such as GPU, CPU, Motherboard, Memory to name a few.

So is that actually true? It will break my computer?

Surely they wouldn't sell it if it did that? Just curious.. What do you advise i do then? Im on a very tight budget..

Cant tell if it would or not, another off brand. Might work perfect for life, might burn out tomorrow. Bright flash, computer is on fire, wife screams runs out of house, you get up trip over dog, burning computer falls on your head, hair is on fire, you run out of house screaming with hair on fire, wife passes out, dog is chasing you and you trip over dog again, next door neighbor pours water on your head, dog is over licking passed out wife in face. Not a pretty sight.

Yes they would sell them, even if they can break something. Companies are out to make money, those cheap chinese power supplies probably cost 1/4th if not less than what they are sold for to make them. Think about it this way, is tobacco sold even though its harmful? How about guns, are they sold even though someone could use them to kill?

Just stick to some mid-end branded PSU's. My A-Power does fine and a lot of people use them, but A-Power isn't known that well anywhere outside Australia.

Okay thankyou for the advice :D

Would you be able to advise me on a Case And PSU on a budget of 52GBP?

Thanks :)
