wow there are too many to choose from, and so complicated. Can anybody help?

Okay I run an oldish computer

Intel Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz
Have one PCI express x16 version 1.0 slot
Max power wattage is 300W
is there anything else you need to know?

I'm looking to buy a good card for gaming. Two recommendations would be helpful - The most powerful for my computer and the most appropriate.

Thanks very much

Actually I can't help you with sales support
But its always best to provide the computer Manufacture and Model number (Ie Dell some model number? HP some model number?)
Or the Motherboard Model and revision if its not a manufacture computer

Get a new PSU and a GeForce 9600GT.
for the psu, get like a 500w one with a pci-e 6pin power cable.
Or if you get one without the cable go for a 9500gt, needs no power cable

Thanks Kim
