this is surprisingly close, i would have thought gordan would have run away with it

Keep in mind that TONS of console gamers use gamespot ;)
Its one of my favorite websites (the best when it comes to info) but they do seem to have more console users (based on my experience with which games get attention and user comments etc.)

I knew it was a popular site but over 120k people actively participating in something like this is kind of impressive in my oppinion. (of course theres probably people who voted multiple times but still...thats a lot fo people)

I wish i saw that before they started the voting. I think my bracket would have been pretty accurate :D

I cant see why peopel think gordon is such a great caracter. I mean, in the games he doesnt even say a word, he's pretty much a social newt.
Only because the halflife games are good, doesnt mean the character is good aswell. at least thats my oppinion. In halflife I dont feel myself (even remotely) attached to him in any way.

you say you aren't attatched, but imagine if in HL2:ep3 he died, you would clearly be like :eek: noooooooooooooo even though he didn't speak.

He doesn't speak because it makes you more of the character, you can have your own reaction to things behind the persona, but it would still suck if he died. I bet you couldn't beat some the stuff he has :P that is why he is so great

If he died, they would kill the halflife series (and get a lot of whining from fanboys). But I wouldnt feel bad for him really. I dont know, Its just a game you play through, a really good game. but well, its more about the world its happening in, rather than the main figure. (sorry, I find it a bit hard to explain otherwise. )


I like what Bungy did with the Halo series much better. its like watching a great movie. ( yea, I found the end of Halo 3 to be a very sad moment for example. :( )

idk if you have finished CoD4 yet, i know you haven't had it for too long, but the end of the american bit and the end of the campaign is sad i think.

I think with the movie thing, that is sort of what HL is, if you play them all back to back over a couple of days it is all one big movie, then you get more connected with gordan and alyx and everyone else.

i think i will go install HL2 now :P
 
I don't believe that valve has not released Episode 3 yet. I thought they announced this like 2 or 3 years ago.

The double negative makes that sentence really confusing but episode 3 is not out yet. Yes it has been announce that they are makig one but valve is taking it's time and the game has not been released yet

I don't believe it, Valve STILL haven't released ep 3

or something along those lines :P

They reckon that it will be the same as a full game, like HL1 and 2, in so much as a similar length to HL and HL2 were, if so i'm so stoked on the release :D
 
If Valve ever released a game on time or ahead of schedule it would be a sign of the approaching apocalypse.

That's a tough one between Gordon and Ryu...I've been a Ryu fan for ages, but due to the fact that my allegiances lie with the PC gaming world I chose Freeman...However if it were Zangief or Guile, it would have been different.
