Can't get ubuntu to work

So I have been trying to install Ubuntu for some time now but I can't get it to boot. I have created a boot CD which works fine I have tried it on my other PC and it boots into Ubuntu no problem. When ever I try it on my gaming rig I don't get any display. I have tried booting from the CD and installing it and booting from the hard drive. Still all I get is a blue screen it loads fine and everything but once it goes into Ubuntu there is no display.

If anyone knows how to fix this that would be great. I hardly ever have a problem that I can't find a solution to but this has me mind boggled.

Have you tried booting to VGA mode or safe mode? I know you get an option for VGA Mode within the disk's boot menu, and I think there's a safe mode option in the GRUB boot loader menu.

Note there are a few (not many) motherboards that cannot boot Ubuntu
They have them listed on their page somewhere

Yes I remember seeing this in the options menu I will have to try one. Although if it does work then what does that mean I can only use it while in safe mode.

Somebody had mentioned that to me once but I can't seem to find anything about it. If you could provide a link that would be awesome.

You probably guessed I couldn't find it on a 30second search :D

Anyway, here is the Hardware > Motherboar > Ubuntu forum, for "Not Working": http://forumubuntusoftware.info/viewforum.php?f=21

I know the list is somewhere there, I just can't easily find it
Its a case of the Ubuntu guys want to tell you what does work, not the other way around ;)

Hmm, I wonder if this is it: http://www.ubuntuhcl.org/browse/search+motherboards?category=7

How did you get it working?

I like that wallpaper.

Oh yea kind of left that part out.

Ok so I put the disk in and when the menu came up a hit F4(mode). I selected safe graphics mode the booted into the CD. After trying some of the features I installed it and every thing went fine from there. I don't have a problem booting into it now.

Thanks to The_Other_One for the advice
