So i recently dug out fear and decided to toss it on my comp and play through it again. Let me start off by explaining my old computer. It had a AMD processor(i forgot which one, but it was the same time the P4s were out), 1gig of RAM, and a 7600GT. That setup ran fear on almost all max settings at around 30FPS. I am trying to play it on my current computer(in sig), and on MAX everything its getting 16FPS.... The only reason i can think that this is happening is because the OS im playing it on is XP64bit. Any one care too verify? My setup should be able to make this game run like a wet dream....

I am talking about FEAR1 btw.

Thanks for the feedback guys(and gals)!

64bit XP was not widely used so I wouldn't be surprised if it's an issue with
the drivers.

Maybe try some older ones. Here's the Archive and Beta page:

XP64 was only ever released as a beta

That's simply not true. 64bit XP Professional is a full release OS, and it's up to SP2.

Thats what i was thinking, i will try on W7. Should work on that since W7 and Vista are essentially the same(the core of them that is). Thanks for the help!
