Kaspersky 2010 has detected a virus, how do I clean it?

Title says it all. My Kaspersky 2010 found a virus. Under status it says detected. It doesn't give me an option to clean it or delete it or anything. I've never had a virus software say it actually found a virus. What am I supposed to do with it?

Reading Kaperskys documentation if your settings are set for "Automatic" then Kapersky will not prompt you if a virus is found, but will attempt "Disinfect" and if that fails it will delete the file. This is without user intervention.

I was notified by the program that the virus was found, so it must not be set to automatic.

Is there anyone more familiar with Kaspersky that could provide some insight? Just looking to know if I have to somehow manually clean the file.

Cheers

Update Kaspersky and run a full scan
During the scan if any Virus is found you will be given options on what to do

The settings in Kaspersky are very thorough, I suggest you start going through them and only change what you know is correct (ie default settings setup is preferred)

this is how most antivirus software works. it will tell you all the bad stuff it detected, but it does automatically delete (or whatever else it needs to do to make sure ur system is safe). so when that comes up with MOST software, generally it has already deleted the virus
