DVI cable worth it?

I just got a new 24 inch LCD monitor, 1920 x 1080, 2ms, 40000:1 dynamic contrast

the only problem is it only came with a VGA cable. It has the inputs for VGA, DVI, ad HDMI, but only a VGA cable. My video card has outputs for DVI (and 7 pin s video, but that's irrelevant) so would it be worth the money ($25 at Tigerdirect) to get a DVI cable, or would there be no difference?

Well are you a gamer? If you game then yes, I'd recommend it. But if your an average everyday user you probably wouldn't see a difference in it.. I switched to DVI just because I have it and it's a little better than VGA.

ya I'm a gamer, and I make games in XNA so I will be using it for that too.

I think I'll get one.

Except everything is closed today as it is thanksgiving :(

The conversion to VGA causes a small loss in quality. With a DVI cable the signal is not converted, it is kept digital, and goes directly from the GPU to the DVI input on the monitor.

You might notice a small difference. I switched from VGA with an old CRT monitor to an LCD with DVI at the same time, so it is hard to say.
