Whats up guys?
Thanks for the help, I'm looking to build a gaming rig for about 1200 not including monitor, keyboard or mouse.

If you have any suggestions or could let me know what goes best together for that price.

Thanks!

Windows 7 is 100 bucks on newegg.

O i added 20 bucks for dvd drive.
1041 is the total

You might wanna crossfire those 5850 later, i dont belleive you will need to now, cause they are pretty powerful.

I guess it would just be a preference whether you go with the i7 build or amd build in this case, cause the i7 will preform better in just about everything else, but the amd build will do better in gaming, oviously cause the gfx card.

Phff. Not many people will be able to afford them...:(

They better break some rules and make a cheap card to compete with these HD 5000's or they're going to (continue to) lose a lot of business.

+1
Wait another couple of weeks for the Windows 7 OEM, not Vista with upgrade. Also get 5850 when stock back.

I'm not comfy with Windows 7 for gaming yet because I couldn't play BF2142 online because of an "Unknown API". That's why I chose Vista + Upgrade.

most of the time its just a firewall error or similar.

I'd wait to see what fermi gets priced at though before going with any high end gpu.

It wasn't a firewall issue, it was a process that was running in Windows 7 x64 that was unrecognized by Punkbuster.

Punkbuster will probably have updated by the time Win 7 releases, but I'm still recommending Vista with the free Win 7 upgrade, until it's been proven. That way the user has an option.

Fermi will probably require financing to be able to afford it. :)
