Hi,

So I just got a new computer to replace the dinosaur I had, and I would like some games to play on it. Due to the embarrassingly low specs of my last computer, I haven't been able to play many (if any) decent games that've come out in the last five years, so I'm a little lost.

I strongly prefer games that I can play by myself. I get bored easily, and have been known to go months without playing some games, which makes it hard to keep up with any friends I make in MMO's. That and I'm kinda antisocial ;) I like RPG's and strategy games, and would like to maybe try a flight simulator. I really suck at FPS. I swear I was born looking for a way to get killed.

Anyway, I welcome your input. Games don't have to necessarily be the newest thing out, as long as they run on Vista/Windows 7 (64-bit).

System Specs (before you ask...)
CPU: Intel Core i5-750
GPU: HD Radeon 4870, 1 GB
OS: Windows Vista, soon to be Windows 7 (both 64-bit)
RAM: 4 GB DDR3 2000

If you like racing then NFS Shift or Grid is good

Left 4 Dead is great for single player and is fun to jump in to an online co-op game.

Call of duty 4 and Call of duty WAW both as great single player stories but kinda short.

Fall out 3 or any them for that matter are great RPG games.

Resident Evil 5 has a good story but is some what sort but has good replay value

I'll think of some more those are just off the top of my head

The good news is, with those specs you can play ANYTHING.

I have been enjoying Operation Flashpoint 2. It is definitely something you will have fun with by yourself, but if you decide to do the campaign co-op it is even more exciting.

Borderlands is coming out on the 26th, and looks to be an amazing game. Definitely check that one out.

Total War series is awesome for strategy and has a massive mod community....

For RTS try Supreme Commander. Which is sorta the sequal to TA which was awesome...

I started with COD World at War < free with my GPU > and just purchased 3 older games for 7.99 from Newegg ( Brothers in Arms - Enemy Territory - and Rainbow Six Vegas2, which I haven't opened yet ).

They are all fun to play - and I'll keep buying year old games at bottom dollar discounts when they go on sale.:good:

Batman Arkham Asylum is AMAZING :D

I love Batman

Yes greatest Batman game ever FTW.

I personally love America's Army 3, it's not to big on graphics but it's a good game in general.
Something to do with graphics is Crysis or Crysis Warhead, they are ok gameplay but it will make your computer worth it.

Actually I forgot to mention Demi-god, in short, it's battlefield style Diablo, it's really good look it up... just don't be Unclean Beast he is MINE.

Also if you like strategy games you should try Empire: Total War, the campaign map is Europe and northern Africa, most of North America and northern South America, and India, it's an epic game!

here is the answer, well if your as old as me and you cant find any games really fun anymore here are some good ones

in that order is my list, dreamfall is pretty old, adventure game, good plot, half life 2 and bioshock are tied for me, bioshock was so fun

Half Life 2 is a must, very fun
Bioshock
Call of duty 4
Dreamfall
If you like fallout series and long RPG then youd probally like that, i personally thought it was overrated-but im probally the only person to think that

Batman Archaic Asylum was a great single player game

if you dont want anything multiplayer then dont grab left 4 dead, but it really is an exception for me, very fun

Depends entirely on whether you played Oblivion before Fallout 3.

I have to agree with you, but that is only because I had just finished playing Oblivion.

That's not true.
I had 100 hours on Oblivion when I started playing Fallout 3 and I still think that Fallout 3 is one of the best RPGs ever
