Hey everyone, I'm planning on updating my build finally. I'm planning to go with either i5/i7, not sure yet which. Here is what I have in mind:

That's my basic build for now. If you feel you need to change something, don't hesitate.
 
It's definitely a good start. For RAM (as I just learned), the i5 doesn't support triple channel like i7, but for speed, I'd suggest at least DDR3 1600 with those motherboards. For Ram I'd suggest 6gb or 8gb unless you're going to be doing something really intense, like running virtual operating systems.

For about 3 out of 5 users, 2 Gigs is more than enough. 1 out of 5 needs more because they'll actually use it (video editing, server, etc.). The final person has it just to have it and prove that...well, to prove whatever:rolleyes: Point being, unless you plan on doing some absolutely crazy multi-tasking (like really...a *ton* of stuff), stick with 2 or 4 gigs.
 
It really doesn't take that much multitasking to push me to the edge. I have 4gigs atm and without running anything, windows 7 takes up about 20%. If I have WoW running with a few other things in the background, it'll shoot up to 50% or 60%. Running Crysis with other background stuff gets it up over 80%. I imagine things coming out within the next year are going to push it to the limit. I'm about to add in 2 more sticks anyway, but that's just some numbers I've seen. If I were making a build now I would definitely have more than 4 gigs unless I was building on a budget.
 
We'll yeah I know. I will actually use it because I do some video editing and game design, but what I'm trying to get at is what is the best brand that I should go with?
