Ok this is gunna be a big one. And i hope some people are willing to help me here, as ive never been on this site, i guess i can introduce myself im jack :). Ok im 15 and no job and low money. I cant save up for a new comp like i want, and i have an old like 5 year old dell, now heres my dilema. I want to play a lot of new games witha decent graphics card (when i say decent i mean, anything better then my 5200 fx). Im a good computer guy on the computer not when it comes to inside it and all that. So here we go. I want to get this video card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130297
Yea nothin to big. Now, i know these all have requirements to be installed on my computer, i downloaded a spec checker can someone tell me which specs they want me to post to see if i can get that in my comp. Please and Thankyou.

Post the exact model number of the computer you have:D

Then we can look at the motherboard specs and the power supply specs. That will tell us what card you can use;)

I know the 5200 FX is an AGP card...that does not mean the motherboard does not have a PCI-E slot.

Hay thanks for helping me out im not sure what the model number is though is it the sticker on the side of the comp?

That's maybe the Windows sticker on the side.

Can you find your computer on Dell website? It is important to know what kind you have for upgrades. The reason why is: A Dell Dimension 5200 and my daughters Dell XPS 400 have the exact same case. The issue is...everything inside is different. We will need the model number to look at the exact specs of your computer.

Still have any user manuals or anything from when you bought it?

That's all I need:D

Here is the specs for your computer...

It does NOT have a PCI-E slot...that means your graphics card options are limited. The card you picked (8600GT) will not work. You can find decent AGP cards, so that's good news. Here is an option for you.

AGP: XFX HD 4650 for $70 and free shipping

****EDIT****
You will need a new power supply also. Your Dell only has a 250w power supply. Just a quick look shows me that any decent AGP card needs 350w or bigger:( The card listed above say "minimum of 400w power supply"

Ok thanks a bunch man i really appreciate this A LOT. I thought noone was going to go through the trouble trying to help me haha. Whats this graphics card compared to like a 7 or 8 series card? Also the wattage on my specs is 250 when i saw the minimum for the card was 400 i think

*EDIT*
One Last question. Will this work with my mother board and the graphics card you suggested? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371023
