Hello,
Does anyone know if the XBOX 360 when used as a Windows Media Centre Extender can show .AVI files when streamed from a Vista PC?
Thanks

xbox can't recognise .AVI files over a network, you have to convert the file.

I haven't tried it, but a google search came up with:

http://www.nch.com.au/switch/

worth a try. If it doesn't work or have what you need do a google search for audio file converter

damn, thats absolutely amazing! right up to the moment where I can't download it. :( will try it again later today, if it works, it'd be totally great! :)

arch or anyone else having the problem downloading it let me know and ill upload it to my sites ftp and link you to it

I'm not sure about over a network, but I do know when I burn AVI movies to a DVD it will let me play. I have to be signed in to xbox live for some reason but I can play them. Last time I used media center was when I first got my xbox 360. iirc it wouldn't even show any of the AVI files on the 360.

sorry to sort of hijack, but a thought occurs. Whenever I try to use media centre over my xbox it comes up on the xbox with all of my music but after maybe 20 seconds or so it crashes and i have to press my xbox button and make it go back to dashboard, it can't play or keep it up (hehe), does anyone else have that problem?
