Well...many people were waiting for the exciting new release of a special card from Evga last night at the Halloween party in California.

Here it is...not sure what to make of it yet? The stupid stickers would have to go right away:D

GTX 275 and a GTS 250 sandwiched together on one card. I bet it plays games pretty good.

Last night? It was on the 30th scout:P

They are made to be able to SLI with a regular 275 for SLI+Physx, for motherboards that only have two slots and whatnot. I really havent seen physx help a whole lot in games, although maybe with the upcoming Fermi release we may get some more physx games.

why with a 275 though? why not 285? something a bit higher performing?

people with 2 slots going sli with standard 275's really need physix?

Take that up with evga, not me:P First thing i told the guys over there when they released it on friday was "Why didnt you go with a GTX285...."

680w PSU with 46 amps on the 12v rail requirement? Did you read the spec sheet? That will limit you to about a dozen or so quality power supplies to even run the thing:D

That alone will rule out about 70% of people to even run the thing! My Antec 650w does not meet that.

Since they bought them, seems like it would have been better to slap a Ageia core on it for PhysX instead of a whole GTS 250 core. Or is this just a EVGA thing that Nvidia has nothing to do with?

EVGA thought it up, although the guys over there said they are expecting that other manufacturers make come out with similar cards perhaps. The Ageia core for physics is pretty useless though imo.

The power supply rating is a little over the top, because you can run two 275's on a decent 600W or so, and two 285's on a few 600W psu's (Silencer would be a good example) as long as cpu isnt overclocked.

Yeah, I can see it coming. XFX started selling ATI GPUs just at the right time. When I heard XFX was going to get a ATI contract for GPUs I had a weird feeling something was going on. Plus the fact that Nvidia was pulling out of chipsets too.

seems like a good idea, but isnt a gts250 a bit overkill for a dedicated physx card?

imo, not enough games support physx right now for that card to be worth it. it would be pretty cool if they an older card on it to make it cheaper though :/

idk my regular gtx275 has no problems pumping games with physx, batman arkam asylum ran very smooth maxed in 1080p, with physx on... i dont have a dedicated physx card... seems pointless at this point in time

Kinda what I was thinking...my GTX 260 played Batman maxed 1680 x 1050 smooth as silk. Looked amazing actually:)

The only real market I could see is a person looking for a single slot card to play great looking games for about the next 18 months.

And the power supply requirements...give me a break:eek:

HMMMM Looks interesting, look at the price though....I'd rather get GTX 260 and 9800GT, don't ask me why....:D Ohh I know why, looks cooler to have two graphics cards :P

Well, that's.... even less than what I was expecting... I really want nvidia to come out with some actually new cards. I need a folding powerhouse.

makes me sad to have a GTS 250 as my main graphics card

but I'm satisfied as I can play oblivion and burnout at max settings
