Sata hard drive help XP install

Ok this is my first build with sata. When I try to load XP it only sees 131070MB of my 500GB HD. The mobo shows 500GB I'm using a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P. Also witch sata port should I be using does it matter?

you should update your BIOS and get Service Pack 3 for XP, then see if your HDD space comes back.

try using something like Gparted to increase the partition size.

Just use nLite and slipstream SP3 to your XP cd and reinstall. Will make your life alot easier. The whole drive size will show up then.

Ok I used nLite and slipstreamd SP3 into it and sata driverd now it shows the whole drive thanks.

According to the motherboard manual, it doesn't matter what port you use. On some motherboard there are some set for IDE and others set for raid.
