Windows 7 Runs on old laptop

Not that its a big shocker but I decided to update this old HP laptop my dad had sitting in a closet at home.

The laptop is a 2003 HP Pavilion ze2000 series with a Intel Pentium M 715 1.5-GHz cpu (400FSB).

512MB DDR PC-2700 ram, a 60GB Ultra ATA 4200rpm HDD, 15.4" lcd (1024x768), standard vga adapter, a media card reader, speakers, and wifi..

not much else!

I installed Windows7 Home Premium 32-Bit and this little 'paper weight' runs very, very well...damn smooth and repsonsive compared to the XP MCE it was running before---which had actually corrupted itself, and my dad was gonna toss it out.

While it cannot run AERO and is not the fastest laptop--(of course)--its surprisingly stable and quite good for a simple email/surfing/listening to tunes laptop.

The things probably pretty similar to my little Netbook. You know they actually come preloaded with Windows 7 now... BLEH :P But yeah, they can run Windows 7 pretty well.

I have a little acer aspire one ...and it runs windows 7 32-bit also..

came with XP, 1GB ram, and 100GB hdd..

Windows 7 seems to run on nearly anything...its pretty nice/!

again, no aero on the acer one...but blah. i dont care

You wouldn't happen to have an Aspire with a GMA 500 in it, would you? Try some new drivers if so as it seems they might have fixed some performance issues with that chipset (maybe even Aero? :P)

Hmm...(scratching beard)...perhaps, I'll have to check!

Im quite curious now!! I'll post later on and confirm

does it work? i might be updating to windows 7 on my laptop or what have you soon. depends. however they said there would be no aero. My laptops were made for xp and can be compatible for vista but yeah. however it could just be that the driver needs to be updated. did you see if there was an upgrade?
