External Hard Drive

I don't know if this is a dumb question, but I have a WD external, and it will not stay on unless I have a house fan blowing into it. If not, it will eject itself from my computer. Do those have fans inside that keep them cool?
 
No, they don't. see if you can get a better case. or you can just take it out of the case and hook it up inside your computer.

Most external drives are just an internal one in a case.

That's that I am going to do. I am transferring all the stuff, then I am going to open it up. Thanks. :good:
 
OK, last night I took my external and installed it in my computer. I have another external HD and now it will not even show up. It is being recognized bc I get the option to eject my hard drive, but it does not come up in my computer tab.
