For Gaming

Id say an i7,However the Phenom II are good too :)

Depends on how much you want to spend :)

My son have a $1000 limits for a gaming computer. What would you get for a 1K at newegg.com? He has Monitor, keyboard and mouse already...

$1000 is a great budget :)

Right this is the I7 build i have come up with,Its over budget....but well worth saving that bit extra if he would like a great gaming system,You could always bring down the cost by just having 3gb of ram instead of 6....or going with a I5 motherboard and cpu instead.

the 5770 will be adequate as it performs the same as a 4870. however if you want better than that then get a 5850.

Looking throught cyberpower which would be the better pick Gamer Xtreme XT or Fang Series - Rattler or it I could go up in budget the Fang Series - Viper?

first off how old is your son? im 16 and i built my computer
my dad bought me the parts as a gift! and 90 percent of the fun was building it. but it depends on your son's interests and how old he is, if hes like 12 then you would have to help him and understand a thing or two yourself but if hes at that age (15+) then buy the parts and surprise him with a father and son build! or if he would like to accomplish it himself then thats good too.
age plz!
