Crossfire on an SLI board?

I have the ASUS M3N72-D motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131323&Tpk=m3n72 d

This is an SLI Ready board, but I want to run two ATI cards in crossfire instead. Is this possible?

I'm fine with that answer, I like nvidia no more than ATI.

Just out of curiosity, why not?

Nvidia doesnt have the copyrights to enable Crossfire on there chips, AMD would freak out. Plus I would say AMD drivers would disable crossfire on a nvidia chipset.

Becasue its a SLI motherboard only dont support CF

Yeah, its kinda funny. They will both give Intel licences but not to each other.(Locked in a GPU war). In the long run I dont see why they care because it would even out. But I guess Nvidia is statring to feel like the 3rd. man out. Since AMD bought ATI, Nvidia is up against two CPU/Chipset/GPU makers.
