Logitech X-530 5.1 Speakers

Hey, I'm busy shopping round for a christmas present and a good set of speakers seem to be mainly what I would like.

I'm not looking for anything expensive nor cheap. I want a good set of speakers for the price, I have come across the Logitech X 530 speakers that are perfectly in my price range. What do you guys think of them? Any first hand experience on their sound quality?

I had that set of speakers once - they are excellent. i had them hooked up in surround sound into my playstation 2 and playing lego star wars.. good times.

Those speakers are great for the price. i got mine for $99 au but they are in storage halfway across the country now

Thats the 540 which is one up from the 530. I'm sure there isn't too much of a difference though, the 540 seems to come with that controller while the 530's don't

I bought a set in December 2005 and don't regret it one bit! They're not going to be the $250 surround set, but with a bit o tweaking, they're great!

I'm not looking for the cream of the crop set out there but these seem pretty close to it!
Tweaking?

tweaking... getting the speakers in the right position, configuring your soundcard (if you have one) and adjusting the bass really.

For general music, games, internet, movies etc these speakers are perfect. even on integrated audio.
