Not a very experienced builder, so after a couple weeks of research and questions. I went with this. Any suggestions or tips is always appreciated.

That Storm Scout looks sweet...but not sure about functionality.

Found a simple 24x sony CD/DVD, shipping is next to nothing, and I'm ordering in 2 different orders (dont wanna shock the bank account)

Everything comes out to under $1000.00. Already have a mouse/keyboard, and using a 32'' LCD TV as display.

Let me know what you think!

Thats where I came into question also. It's only a problem if I'm looking to run 2 gpu's right? If thats that case then I dont mind.

What else could you use more pciex16 for?

It has other Pci express slots...just not the 2.0 x16

Everything looks fine to me.
Have you got thermal compund? you may want to get some, but it is not compulsory
5770 - SAPPHIRE come with free 4GB flashdrive with same price...

Mobo - I personally find 2 x PCI slot from gigabyte not enough. I don't know if you need any add on card. ASUS M4A77TD is a good alternative if you want more PCI slot

Ooo...good point on the free flash drive. I'll pick that one up, thanks!

I'll be ok with the 1 pci slot for now.

^^ Good idea with that other board. If I really wanted to run crossfire...another card new mobo wouldn't hurt me that bad.

I feel good about this build! It seems easily upgradable if I need to, and prob gonna be all I need for atleast a year. Just purchased the order through newegg and should be here by monday. And I picked up http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118003 to go with it. Think the stock AMD thermal paste will do fine?

The stock compound that comes with the CPU is already on the heatsink, cant be reused. The Zalman comes with its own compound, not the best but not to bad either. The 9500 is kinda of a small heatsink for a X4. Cheap good stuff is TX-2 or MX-2, either works good.

Think I'll be ok with that heatsink? It's an upgrade from the stock one atleast. If everything is running to hot, then I'll get a bigger one and some better paste pronto.

You will have to send it back anyway. If its the one in the link, you got the Intel version. Wont work on a AMD board.
