I'm writing an essay for University and I was wondering if you'd take some of your time to help me out.

Mostly because of online,Ive always look into if a game has good online before buying and all of these games have fantastic online gameplay....endless fun.

Hmm,Dunno tbh,difficult question :o,Just a guys thing i guess...there are some die hard girl gamers out there though :D

I think it would be like a RPG game.....women characters only and quite popular among the rare girl gamers?

lots. CoD4 and WaW, gmod, Battlefield 2, Fallout 3, WoW (private server so you may not want to include that even though I play it :P)
- Why do you enjoying playing them?
Immersion, and on CoD, playing with people in the clan, speaking over vent with them is often better than the game itself, so much fun

Men are more interested in useful stuff and the way things work, there are few women into electricals in any form, so naturally, something that is played on an electrical device would appeal more to men than women

Do the women have knowhow, or are they everyday women :confused: I will answer for the latter :P

An RPG, but unlike most other RPGs, with little to no violence. I think the scenery and items wouldn't have the amssive detail that most modern games do because they don't understand fully what is available to them. Characters would be supermanesque men and bog standard women so the women feel better about themselves, it would be popular because it would be a one of a kind game made entirely by women, but I think that it would lose popularity quite quickly because it wouldn't hold much attention, as average women know very little about what makes a good game today and what people want

I mainly play online games, and it's fun to play against a bunch of other people, whenever you want.

No idea, I usually run into a handful of female gamers on occasion, as well at LAN parties too, so.

Not sure actually, depends on their goals for the game, do they want it sell, do they only want to appeal to the female crowd, ect.

CoD4, BiA:HH, BF2 (Project Reality Mod, not vanilla BF2, mind you ;)), The Sims 2/3, BF:BC2 (When it comes out :D)

They're intense, PR because it takes brains, not just brawn. CoD4 MP when I'm in the mood for a run-and-gun. The Sims 2/3? I'm not really sure, just fun as hell.

Not sure, but imo, they just don't seem interested it gaming, or at least they don't look it, they might spend hours gaming, who knows? My guess is as good as the next guy.

I'd have to agree on this one with Aastii, and RPG with lots of beautiful scenes, I guess it'd help relieve stress in anyone.

the way they are brought up. during child hood parents buy the boys the xbox and the girls the barbies(not saying all girls like barbies just making a point), i think its just the way we are brought up.

i think it would be story driven, and emotional, or the whole other extreme with naked men running around killing people in third person....

league of legends, its a free RTS made from the people that made DOTA(defense of the acients a warcraft 3 mod) it it totally free and addicting :D

Racing games such as NFS: Shift and Racedriver: GRID
First person shooters such as Call of Duty, Crysis and Left 4 Dead

- Why do you enjoying playing them?

Playing the games gives you a thrill and its a whole different virtual world you can immerse yourself in where you can play out scenarios you would probably never get a chance, and sometimes would not want to, in real life. Its also a social activity you can enjoy and compete in with mates.

- Why do you think there are so many more men than women in the gaming industry?

The market for games such as racing and first person shooters is probably the biggest, but I think it doesn't really appeal to a lot of females because it doesn't seem to be something that interests them.

- If a team consisting of entirely women made a game, what do you think it’d be like, genre, characters and popularity, etc.

It depends on the audience, if it were intended for 6 to 13 year olds it would probably be something to do with animals, like that game Pet Pals.
The market for female gamers seems to be based around social and interactive games, such as Singstar or games on the Wii where they can play it with their friends. I can't really think of any new markets that would be as popular.

They entertain me i dont find myself bored when playing games and they give me a sense of achievement.

- Why do you enjoying playing them? To get away from real life. To just sit back and forget about everything that's going on around me.

Women don't like violence, and it seems that most major games consist of nothing but violence. Also I think it's because most games are geared towards Men and not women.
