I have a 40GB WD hard drive on my 7 year old computer and altho' it does not give me any trouble, I would like to increase it to say a 500GB before installing Windows 7. I have tried to contact W D using 'contact us' on their web page without success. When I fill up the questionaire I come to a box asking for a value of RMA , what is this.? I can't send the email until the box is answered.
I want to know from Western Digital what hard drive of theirs would fit in the slot of my computer. The one installed at present is WD400BB=OOCFCO.
Any comments appreciated. firefrost.

Most likely you have an IDE drive(wide connector with a bunch of pins in it). If you live in the States or Canada you can use www.newegg.com to order a bigger hard drive or you can go to any local computer repair shop and they should have some for you. Any one of these should work for you.

Thanks for the comments, yes it will be an IDE drive. I live in central Scotland but what surprised me was I could not talk to Western Digital. Looks like Caviar Blue will do the job.
