i was looking at this laptop for school. i am looking to spend no more than $700 and it needs to have some battery life, i would like 4+ hours. is this one worth the money or should i look at another one, if i should look elsewhere what would you recommend. i know that most people on hear would agree that asus makes good products, and that was a big factor in finding this one. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...rlot/9556036.p?id=1218124204238&skuId=9556036

So this is just for school? Like just your average internet browsing and word processing? You dont need it for anything else?

it will be the only pc i have so it will be used for everything from watching movies to word processing, internet, and ipod syncing. but it does not have to everything outstandingly, it is a laptop for school first and everything else second.

That is a great deal I think. I would go for it, But check online stores for the same model of pc to see if you can get it cheaper. But for school that laptop would rock for it. Movies, music, videos, and basic gaming would also be fine.

^ at that point you might as well just get the asus G60 at bestbuy with the 260m gtx. Its only $50 more. Asus is a rock solid company too.

EDIT: Its battery life isnt as good though, but it likely won't make too much of a difference. Plans always change and you end up staying at the library or a friend's longer than you thought. You want to just bring the power adapter with you everywhere, which only takes another 5 seconds to unplug and toss in your pack.

I will back Asus, they have great laptops and price to performance ratio. I recently bought a ul30a x4 for a good portable media and internet laptop, love it so far.
