Whoops! You're right. I've been out of the loop for years, trying to get back in. Disapointed to hear AMD's processors arn't holding up, I think I'll probably still grab the 955 though.

How so? They still have the cheapest quad-core on the market, they're still a very solid company. They just have different views than Intel.

Maybe it's these forums? No clue. I plan on getting AMD's old flagship A3 socket 955 which is quad 3.2 regardless. (as I said, apparently it's NOTHING to get them up to the new flagship 965)

I want to get into quad, but I want to keep it under 300 CPU and MOBO which i can do with AMD. I just don't see the point of spending more money than I have, for an Intel setup that constantly changes socket. I've always owned intel boards/chips, and honestly I'm about sick of it. I've never owned their POWERFUL systems, but they don't like continuing compatibility. AMD does. I love AMD's idealoligy, and they are the (pseudo)underdog.

But on topic of yours. AMD/Radeon is destroying intel in the graphics market. As I've said, I've been in the Army and away for 5 years, so I'm a little out of it. But even before going in/getting out of active, AMD's approach I've always preferred.(sorry for Hijacking your thread, mine has not gotten any attention :rolleyes: )
