Nvidia Fermi graphic cards surfaced??

nvidia confirmed these are photoshoped... sorry :( but the new gtx cards will be nasty for sure.. i hope... for a good price too maybe?

well with the 5970s current clock speeds it's closer to 2 5850s in xfire so that's why it's a must to overclock! :)

If their new cards are not killers, its going to be bad news for Nvidia.

I don't think nVidia is going anywhere anytime soon, regardless of how the 300 series launches. They have plenty of loyal fans that would gladly pay more for a card that's not as good. :D

Honestly, you couldn't pay me to buy an nVidia card right now, unless I got a great deal on another 260 to SLI.

Bog, what i meant was, those games could allow nVidia cards to perform better than usual, thus not showing the 5970's true performance...

Viper, i meant (as stated above) that those are the frames that the 5970 gets MORE than the GTX295...

i currently get about 40 frames avg, with full AA, AF, at 1440 x 900 res...

rememebr though, my CPU aint that great, and crysis does rely on the CPU quite a bit...

I admit, Intel dropping/putting on hold what ever they want to call it Larrabee, gave Nvidia some breathing room. From what I understand, AMD is not going to give chipset licences to Nvidia either for the Bulldozer when it comes out. The pressure is on.

It would not surprise me if the old rumors of Intel buying Nvidia doesnt start popping up again.

ATI better have a 6k series out by the time Nvidia releases the 300 series. A gtx360 will beat a 5850 hands down, and the gtx380 should crush the 5870.

I personally think a gtx360 will be around the performance of the 5870. Prices are suppose to be like $300 for the gtx360 and $450 for the gtx380. So same prices as the 5850 and 5870 pretty much. IF the gtx360 goes for $300 or less, it will be the best bang for the buck high end GPU for sure.

Why would they offer a GTX 360 for the same price as a GTX 275?

They should beat them, but i do think your prices are a bit low:P i doubt youll see prices like that with these cards...

Come to think of it i cant ever remember when nvidia beat out ati in the best bang for your buck shootout, what makes these cards different, where you getting your info?...

If I were an nVidai fanboy, I might keep quiet, but I'm not. I like the best card I can afford for the money.

I agreed the HD 5970 was a better card, I just don't think it "dominates" the 295.
It's not worth the price in my opinion. Neither is a 295 for that matter. I don't need
the best card to play games. I get 250-300fps on my favorite game, BF 2142.

The numbers I'm referring to are in this link, which was posted by bomberboy:

BF 2142 is an extremely old game, benchmarks dont really show much for that. Look at some of the more demanding newer games such as crysis warhead and such, as well as synthetics such as 3dmark vantage(which is usually more skewed in favor of nvidia).

Wikipedia  :P
Hardly a reliable source.....

utter rubbish

im sorry, but a single GPU (5870) is on par with nVidia's top offerring (GTX295)

if nVidia will do anything, they will only be on par.

by the time they release their cards, ATI will drop prices

ATI has really screwed nVidia on this one...

+ ATI has nifty little extras that nVidia doesnt offer. And knowing nVidia, they will probablystay with DX10...

Nvidia also has things ati doesn't support to well, and i would be willing to bet anything nvidia is going dx11, they have to, if they stay dx10 they aren't making very wise choices.

OK I'm not an Nvidia or ATI fan, but here's my take. The last 10 years I had one guy build my computers and he always put in an Nvidia card. Claiming it was the best. So I believed him and was very happy with the card, no issues. My first gaming build, I did last year in July and didn't start using until Feb. this year, I put in an ATI 4870 512mb. Wow unbelievable graphics I was in disbelief I was so happy. In all fairness I went from a Geforce 6600 to the 4870 hehe. Anyway I since upgraded to the 4870X2 and I couldn't be any happier. I'm now building my newest comp. this weekend and will be putting another ATI card in there for price and performance. I don't need the best, but I like high end. If Nvidia had the same performance and price as ATI , I'd still be buying Nvidia cards. But this is not the case and Nvidia is living off a name and think they can sell the same performance for more. Most cases they can, but a researched buyer knows differently. Bump for ATI woot woot keep up the good work and lower those prices hehe. Also what's with this new processor I keep hearing about that is suppose to be a cpu and gpu chip in one????
