hide my i.p address!

HI everyone :)

I seriously need to hide my i.p address -external i.p address as talking on a car forum has resulted in somebody wishing to enter my router and nack up my modem and other things and i would like to block my external i.p address please help me!

You can't block it from everyone, as you can't physically put anything between the modem and the internet (at least on the consumer level). Check your modem settings to make sure that accessing the modem over the internet is disabled. No one should be able to access your router as it's on the local network.
 
you can't hide your ip.
hower you can if you want go through a proxy to mask yourself with the ip of the proxy.

however any good pc geek will find your real ip
with a few clicks or with a dos prompt window
 
uh, guys NAT alone does not allow any remote host to connect with out authentication and even then they need to telnet from an internal subnet unless configured otherwise.

Make sure you got a strong password on your router

Assuming the proxy sends along the client's ip (anonymous proxies wont).
