What's Filling My C: Drive?

Drive C Capacity: 18.6GB
Free Space: 686 MB (3%)

I've checked under 'Add/Remove Programs' and I have 6 programs that use a total of 1000MB, the rest each use under 100MB. What is using up all that space?
 
Probably a collection of images and system files from Windows that you accumulated over the years.

Download Treesize 21 day free trial. It'll give you a pie chart that will tell you where all of your HDD is being filled up. When you know where the location is - you can open the subfolders on the < left side > to see what's in there.

You might be surprised what you find in there :D
 
It actually all looks legitimate. There a fair amount of saved info, and backups from my other computer. Some I can delete, now that I know what's taking up the space. Thanks.
 
Your System Restore is likely taking up a lot of your hard drive. Go try this shortcut:

Start-->Programs-->Accessories-->System Tools-->Disk Cleanup

Clean up as much space as you can with Disk Cleanup.
 
Why do you have a Y: drive? What OS are you running? How large is the HD? "C:" is just an arbitrary designation given to a particular partition on your HD. Just put the cursor over the C: partition in the window "My Computer" if its Windows and you can find out how large it is.

Just from the given info it sounds like your main partition may be a little small considering the large Y: partition you have.
 
It just shows a few files saved on the Y: drive. OS is Windows XP. When I put the cursor over the C: partition it says 'Total Size: 18.6 GB".

It doesn't list the Y: drive under my computer. I only saw it when I ran 'Treesize'.
