I have Windows 7 installed with NFS Most Wanted. I have allready disabled automatic restart on system failure, however when playing the computer will randomly restart. i looked at the logs of the cpu, mobo, gcard, etc temps and they r all ok.

is there anything else i can do to stop this.

thanks

P.S it used to work fine so i dont think its my computer or windows 7. thanx

If it didn't have problems before the game was installed, I say it's the game or hardware issue. How much free space is left on the HDD, how much total memory is available, did you install any new hardware to play, like a steering wheel?? Also, do you have any other programs that suck system resources down like Adobe Photoshop??

After i installed 7 i installed the steering wheel (which i was also using on vista) and MW worked for ages. Then suddenly i was playing and it restarted. then it started to do it quite regularly, but is totally random in its occurances.

I got 67.1 GB free on C: and i got 18.3GB free on D; (i installed the game on D:). i am using about 35% of memory ATM and i have 4GB (but im using 32bit system so its using slightly less), however it was working before so i cant see this being a problem.

I do have photoshop but i never have it open when im playing games so it shouldn't have any effect should it? also i had photoshop on when it was working both on 7 and earlier on vista.

Did you overclock your video card or CPU?

no all are on stock values, have never mucked around with them.

have you updated the latest drivers from nvidia?

yep got the latest drivers for windows 7.

Your system Windows 7 compatible?? Did it seem to run stable after you installed it??

yea it was running fine and as i said above it was also running fine with MW installed for ages. i also used that windows 7 requirement program thingy and it said it was fine. my specs all pass the requirements of 7.

thanx all for ur responses!

ok its now not just restarting in most wanted. i was playing assassins creed today and it restarted on me. another problem is the computer freezing. im not sure if these two problems are related. i left the computer on last night and in the mornig it was frozen. this has happened a couple of times.

i ran a virus/spyware scan and found nothing. i also scanned all my HDD's for errors and found nothing. im am planning on running a ram tester: should i do this?

any other suggestions?

thanx

I wonder if the screen saver and the two games aren't stressing the video card enough to cause problems. Can try and update the software and drivers, and see if it helps.

i updated my divers for video card. i thought it had fixed it but this morning it restarted. i looked on everest logs and it showed the computer froze at 2.40 in the morning. the games shouldnt stress it much it can handle them. it used to work for ages with these games. i dont have a screensaver on, instead i just turn the monitor off to save power.

since i put the driver it hasnt restarted in games (yet..) so hopefully that is fixed but this freezing is really annoying. it always happens when i go to the computer in the morning.

do u have any suggestions why it may be freezing?

thanx for ur reply.

ok i was playing test drive unlimited and it restarted. i checked the logs and the temps were all fine. i played it again and it restarted after 5 mins or so again.

any suggestions?

thanks
