is it ok to have a nvidia GPU and a AMD 2 processor?

the GFX card is completely different to the GPU, and it is isolated from it.
meaning, you dont need the same brands.
the only time you need the same brand, is when you SLI/Crossfire.
Then you would need ATi - ATi or nVidia - nVidia

in some cases you can get an amd bored with the ability to sli a few nvidia cards. i just built my buddies computer with one of those asus m3nhd deluxe boards or something, sucker had a am3 slot and 3 pci x16 slots with an nvidia chipset
