So somebody told me the new computer i got is a POS.... Specs are in the pic. Can anybody tell me if i have a decent computer? if you need more info i can supply it... sorry if this is a noobie question but i dont really know much about computers

It's not the best, but at least it's Dual Core with 4Gigs of RAM.

With monitor and keyboard and all? Not bad then.

It's got potential too.

You can add a better CPU later, and a decent power supply and (low profile) graphics card.

Does the fact that it's a slimline make any difference?

It will limit your choice in graphics cards, and most likely your case uses a m-ATX PSU.
