How hot can cpu get?

I have an AM3 phenom II x4 955 deneb black editon 3.2ghz. When I logged out of my game, it was at 55degrees celcius. Is that too hot? I'm just wondering if I need a better cooler or something. I'm using stock cooler and i'm not overclocking.

Also, my computer logs out of my game when i've been playing for a while, does that mean something is overheating?
 
55c is nothing to worry about under load.

What are the specs of your computer? What graphics card and such...

Motherboard: MA770T-UD3P
RAM: Patriot Gamer's series 1600mhz
CPU: phenom II 955 black editon
Hardrive: seagate barecuda 1tb
Power supply: Corsair 750w
Graphics: XFX radeon 4890 1gb
 
Your good, the max temp for it is 62c.

In the future you might want to get better cooling,
 
Yah, it is pretty low,mine has a max temp of 70c which is a little better, but still cant compete w/ intel :D
 
I've run my Phenom II 550 unlocked to a quad at 3.9ghz to 72c before with no ill effects.

They say it decreases the life span, but who cares these days after 2 years if that a CPU is obsolete anyway.
 
Does anyone know the reason why my computer just exits out of the game if the cpu isn't overheating?

I have cool and quiet enabled on my computer so I dunno if thats the problem or not. My computer crashed everytime i played it before when i went into power options and set to high performance too.

What graphics card do you have? And what temps is that seeing?
 
I have XFX radeon 4890 1gb. I used stock cooler and it came with paste. Could adobe flash player or something like that mess with it?
 
Dont know why they rate the Phenom 955/965 with a lower max temp of 62c. All the other Phenom I/II have a max of between 70/73c.
